From December 8th to 10th, 2020, Professor Zhong Juncheng, the artistic director of China-ASEAN Music Week, was invited by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music to serve as a judge of the 9th "Baichuan Award" composition competition in Shanghai, and attended the finals and awards concert.

        The "Baichuan Award" composition competition is an international brand project sponsored by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. It was started in 2009 and has been successfully held for eight sessions so far. The "Baichuan Award" aims to promote extensive domestic and foreign music exchanges, encourage composers to explore the fusion of Chinese and Western musical instruments, and create a high-end platform for the launch of outstanding original music works.

        On the evening of December 8, the "Baichuan Award" final concert kicked off at the He Luting Concert Hall of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, presenting the final works of 11 outstanding young composers from home and abroad. The judges present in this competition are also: Professor Glenda Keam, Chairman of the International Modern Music Association, Professor Magnus Lindberg, the internationally renowned composer, and Hao Weiya, Director of the Composition Department of the Central Conservatory of Music Professor Guo Ming, Dean of the Composition and Conducting Department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, Professor Zhou Xianglin, Dean of the Composition and Conducting Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Professor Chen Musheng, Deputy Director, Professor Xu Shuya, Professor Xu Mengdong, Professor Jia Daqun, Professor Ye Guohui, Professor Yin Mingwu.

        This academic exchange has yielded fruitful results and effectively promoted the sound development of composition and composition technology theory in our college.
